I think we can all agree that 2020 has not quite gone to plan up until now, and many of you reading this may be working from home, or in unfamiliar environments and circumstances.

Sometimes you just need a bit of humour to brighten up your day, which is why we’ve curated a list of some of our favourite comedy podcasts, for you to enjoy from wherever you are. You should absolutely consider giving these a listen, and hopefully they may go some way in bringing some comedy into your day

Last Podcast On The Left

This is a perfect podcast for those who enjoy a touch of dark comedy. Though not for everyone, this podcast sees Marcus Parks, Henry Zebrowski and Ben Kissel as they talk about all the darker things in life whether that be true crime, UFOs, cults, and various other topics that go bump in the night. How do they deal with all these night terrors you Ask, well these three are well armed with both their research and their wit when dealing with the darker side.

Athletico Mince

If you’re a fan of sports or specifically, the world of football (not the American variety), then Athletico Mince may just be the comedy podcast for you. In this podcast, comedian Bob Mortimer and Andy Dawson talk about various things going on in the world of football, though in reality more often than not it’s not about what’s actually going on in the world of football. A personal favourite sketch of ours is “Gangs of the EPL” focussing on the oh so real “gangster lives” of Premier League footballers. Missing the football season, well give this podcast a go!

Hello From The Magic Tavern

Imagine a podcaster telling a story not just about his own life but how he once got stuck in an alternative universe with a talking badger and an over enthusiastic wizard in a magical land called Foon. In this story (which absolutely, certainly, definitely has to be true), Arnie Niekamp meets a variety of characters from his adventures, in a tale which is laugh out loud funny and highly addictive too!

A Very Fatal Murder

What about a “true crime” podcast based on the likes of My Favourite Murder and Serial? In this series produced by satirical publication The Onion, this fictional young investigator called David Pascall is trying to find the perfect murder with the assistance of the ETHL – the Extremely Timely Homicide Locator (you see where this is going…) 2 seasons of this comedy gold are available online, and if you’re anything like us and love a true crime story, this podcast is a funny take on the often grim genre.

No Such Thing As A Fish!

We all absolutely love QI in the office, and for many of you, it is probably one of the most recognisable game shows on British TV! This podcast is hosted by the writers of the show (AKA The QI Elves), where they discuss the show and their favourite fact that they’ve unearthed that week (Did you know a salmon is more closely related to a camel then a hagfish?(what even is a hagfish?)) For those who love the powerful fusion of factual comedy, you’ll have a barrel of laughs listening to this podcast!
