John Verity

John Verity is one of the most consistent performers on the blues rock circuit today, having honed his craft over more than 60 years on the circuit at every level.

Born in West Yorkshire he played in many bands in the area and beyond before moving to Florida. Whilst there he opened for Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Mountain and others, then on his return to the UK, taking a somewhat different direction with time as front man with Argent.

When Argent disbanded, John spent time primarily in the studio, producing, recording, and guesting with (among many others) Ringo Starr, The Zombies, Smokie, Charlie, Motorhead, and Saxon.

However, live performance has always been the driving force for JV, and though he does love studio work, it wasn’t long before the need to play live drew him back…

These days it’s easy to find John back out on the road with his own band and material, and experiencing a musical renaissance across the country at a venue near you!

The John Verity Band currently features: –

Guitar/vocals-John Verity, Drums-Chris Mansbridge and bass, Roger Inniss.

“And it would always have been difficult to follow the next act, the triumphant John Verity Band. Verity is best known for his stint as the frontman of Argent in the 1970s, but that was only a brief interruption in a 50-year solo career.”

“You are left under no illusion that you are in the hands of a proper musician and vocalist who would have no problem filling a stadium, packing out any club and bringing a festival audience to their feet. Go see him!”

Let’s see what John Verity has to say about Vocalzone!

“I believe I began using Vocalzone pastilles in the ‘70s or maybe even earlier. I was strictly a backup vocalist in my earliest bands but the parts I had to sing were quite difficult. From around 1968 I would often be playing 14 shows a week, so I really needed help with my voice, and Vocalzone was remedy!

When I formed my own band in Florida, in 1971 – it was a 3-piece with me handling all the vocals, I needed all the help I could get and Vocalzone came to the rescue again. On my return to the UK in 1972 I got my first record deal and again turned to Vocalzone as I took to the studio to record my first of many albums.

Jump forward more years that I like to mention, and I still rely on Vocalzone. I’m still the only singer in the band and I still love the 3-piece format, but there’s nowhere to hide and it really is vital to keep my voice in shape.

You know how…”
