Born in Green Bay, WI, Thom Hazaert is an American Musician, Journalist, Radio Personality, Artist Manager, Music and Film Producer, and label executive.

He was co-founder and President of Corporate Punishment Records and THC : MUSIC, and currently runs EMP LABEL GROUP and COMBAT RECORDS [in addition to Ellefson Coffee Co.], with Grammy winning bassist David Ellefson of Megadeth. Hazaert is also an accomplished journalist, contributing to publications including Metal Hammer, Metal Edge, Circus, and Noisecreep, , along with co-authoring Ellefson’s 2018 memoir MORE LIFE WITH DETH.

Since 2018, Hazaert has served as lead vocalist, co-producer, and co-writer, for Ellefson’s eponymous solo band, first serving as vocalist on Ellefson’s BASSTORY tour, alongside former Guns N’ Roses/Sons of Apollo guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal. 2018 saw the release of the Ellefson compilation release Sleeping Giants, featuring Hazaert’s vocals on several tracks, alongside guest appearances by Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Mark Tremonti, Chris Poland, Kristian Nairn (Game of Thrones), Dave McClain (Sacred Reich), Eric AK (Flotsam and Jetsam) and more, which spawned the Metal radio hit “Hammer (Comes Down)”, which spent several weeks in rotation, as well as landing in the “Devil’s Dozen” Top 12, on Sirius XM Liquid Metal.

Ellefson and Hazaert followed up the release of Sleeping Giants with an extensive US and European Tour, including the hugely successful MORE LIVE WITH DETH show in Wolverhampton, England, which saw Hazaert and Ellefson share the stage with legendary former Judas Priest members K.K. Downing and Les Binks, as well as 90’s Priest vocalist Tim “Ripper” Owens. Hazaert also performed with Ellefson on Megadeth’s MEGACRUISE, where they performed a special Megadeth set with guests including  Megadeth’s Kiko Loureiro and Dirk Verbeuren, as a tribute to Dave Mustaine.

Hazaert participated in another noted highlight of the MEGACRUISE, helping to coordinate an all-star KISS jam, which in addition to Ellefson, featured Frank Bello, Charlie Benante, and Scott Ian of Anthrax, plus members of Hellyeah, Butcher Babies, Queensryche, Suicidal Tendencies, and more, where Hazaert shared vocal duties on “God of Thunder” with Chuck Billy of Testament, and “God Gave Rock And Roll To You” with the legendary Doro Pesch, as well as participating in the epic finale of “Rock And Roll All Nite.”

2020 saw the release of Ellefson’s hit single “Simple Truth”, which was premiered on air by SiriusXM’s Eddie Trunk, followed by the release of their reimagined Post Malone cover “Over Now”, both of which garnered national airplay, including spins and coverage on nationally syndicated radio outlets like HARD DRIVE, NIGHTS WITH ALICE COOPER, and FULL METAL JACKIE, and press outlets including Rolling Stone, Alternative Press, NME, Loudwire, ABC Newsradio, Metal Hammer, Loudersound, Consequence of Sound, and many more. Ellefson’s debut full length is due in October 2020.

In addition to credited production and direction work for legendary Scream Factory! Horror releases including Wes Craven’s SHOCKER, Army of Darkness, People Under the Stairs, and Return of the Living Dead, and serving as a producer on the “Life on the road” documentary LONG WAY TO THE TOP, featuring members of Def Leppard, Nine Inch Nails, Limp Bizkit, Weezer, Grizfolk, and more. In 2019, Ellefson and Hazaert launched ELLEFSON FILMS, which will see the release of their first full-length film DWELLERS, later this year.

Hazaert’s work was also influential in the early advent of lifestyle street and viral marketing among Major Label Rock acts. His relationship as an independent A&R and Marketing consultant for major record labels including Flip, Interscope, Geffen, MCA, Warner Bros., Hollywood Records, Jive, and as co-founder of Total Assault Street Teams, gave him the opportunity to work with legendary Gold and Platinum artists including Incubus, Guns N’ Roses, Tupac Shakur, Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit, Slaughter, Autograph, Nine Inch Nails, Motorhead, The Misfits, Doyle, Def Leppard, Static-X, Staind, Orgy, Korn, Pantera, Filter, Cold, Rob Halford, Henry Rollins, The Bloodhoung Gang, Linkin Park, Dangerous Toys, David Ellefson, Kiko Loureiro, and Dirk Verbeuren of Megadeth, Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch, and many more.  Hazaert has also served as manager, or co-manager, of artists including Motorhead, The Misfits, Adema, Chimaira, Switched, Erase The Grey, Videodrone, Earth Crisis, and more, leading multiple artists to multi-record major label deals with labels including Immortal, Geffen, Roadrunner, Universal/Republic, and more.
