Katy Forking’s is a fantastic example of hard work paying off!
Katy has been singing since the age of 8 successfully taking part in talent shows on holiday, open mics and gaining lead roles in local drama productions. More recently she has learnt the guitar leading to her love of songwriting.
At just 17 Katy has over 20 original songs which she regularly performs at events and open mics alongside acoustic covers. She won Chelmsford’s got Talent 2015 was best breakthrough artist at the SEEA awards 2016 and was this year’s Essex Undiscovered solo winner. Over the past two years she has been focusing on her song writing and released her Debut EP ‘Find My Feet’ recorded at studio 808 in Chelmsford where is she from.
Here’s her latest song from her ‘Room To Grow’ project called ‘Still A Child’
She is now working on her ‘Room to Grow’ project where she is releasing a song every 3 months. Creatively – the 1st song was released in August and ‘Still A Child’ has just been released. Tracks 3 , 4 and 5 will be released in February, May and August 2018. All Katy’s songs can be found on major platforms such as itunes and spotify a well as videos on her youtube channel. Her website is a work in progress but will hopefully be live soon.
They have also been played on radio stations including BBC Essex where she also went in for a live session and was invited to play on their stage at the Brentwood Festival.
Here Katy performing ‘Find My Feet’ from the album of the same name!
She loves live gigs and played most of the local festivals in the summer and is just branching out from the Essex circuit to venues in London and other counties. She’s hoping to have a career in music but she is fully aware this is the dream of so many people and that it is going to take a lot of hard work (and maybe a bit of luck ) to make it happen!
Let’s see what Katy Forkings has to say about Vocalzone!!
“In musical theatre “Vocalzone has helped me like no other when it comes to ensuring my voice is on point. Pre/post show – it’s the best product I’ve discovered, hands down, for the maintenance and usage of my vocals, night after night Vocalzones would get me through show week. Now doing more acoustic gigs I always have them on hand for when my voice is not quite on point as I know I can rely on them to get me through. You can replace an instrument but you only have one voice so it’s always reassuring to know you have something to help you on your way and get you through a gig.”
