Quickly building a fearsome reputation in just over a year Ba’al is proving to be a mighty force.
Steffan moved to Sheffield in February of 2015 with the intention of starting a music project as the city had a reputation for it. After some time Ba’al was formed and it’s been full steam ahead since then.
Formed in Sheffield in 2016, blackened post metal quintet Ba’al have built a reputation over the past 12 months for intense live experiences in their hometown and a number of festivals across the north – something which they aim to carry into their debut release this summer.
Ba’al have shuffled their lineup a number of times before settling on James (Drums), Richard (Bass) and with Tom and Nick (Guitars) to complete the current incarnation which has seen them perform at a number of high profile events alongside current up-and-comers Conjurer, Calligram and Hundred Year Old Man as well as established Post-Metal front runners, Downfall of Gaia.
Being influenced by a multiple number of great doom and sludge bands including Amenra, Cult of Luna, Bongripper, Neurosis, Windhand and Fall Of Efrafa. These guys fall nothing short of their idols by carrying on a legacy worthy of the greats.
When playing live at Rebellion Manchester with their killer track track ‘Grave Harvest’ its clear to see how they steal the show.
In thier first year performing they won their first entry to Bloodstock Metal to the Masses and subsequently played Bloodstock, which as a result won the opportunity to record with Russ Russell of Parlour Records.
Since then we recorded our first EP “In Gallows by Dawn” at Tool Makers Recording Studio in Sheffield, and signed to APF Records for its release on November 11th, 2017.
Let’s see what Steffan Benham has to say about Vocalzone!
“Vocalzone is a vital part of my live performance process and after care of my vocals. It has given me the confidence as a performer to excel my live performance and not hold back if I have successive shows.”
