When you’re busy it can be very hard to remember to do all the things you need to,  this unfortunately can often include giving our bodies the attention they need to perform. Not just perform in a performance aspect, but perform through everything our day throws at us!

One of the most ignored aspects of keeping your body and voice working at its best condition is hydration. No matter what it’s important to stay hydrated. Dehydration can cause problems such as headaches, weakness, dizziness, nausea, dry mouth and more serious problems depending on the severity. Oppositely, staying well-hydrated can give a number of benefits like good energy levels, enhance good moods and it even helps with weight loss, as well as keeps your skin looking amazing, clear and beautiful!

If that’s not enough to convince you, Vocalzone team also think, hydration is important for all voice professionals whether you’re a musician, an actor, a Twitcher or a call centre employee, it’s vital to stay hydrated not just for the above health benefits, but to keep vocal cords hydrated and your voice sounding clear and beautiful during your hard working day!

Below are the best drinks to gobble down and food to chew (plus we added their water content) to keep you and your vocal cords hydrated and ready to go all day, any day!

HYDRATING DRINKS

You may think its common sense, but not all drinks are created equal. It can be impossible but it’s important to avoid or minimise the intake of dairy, alcohol, caffeine and other substances that can be possibly harmful to your voice.

1. WATER

This is a no-brainer. Duh!  Water is necessary to live and the perfect way to hydrate yourself. It’s recommended to drink about six to eight, eight-ounce glasses of water each day. Keep a bottle of water with you at all times, and if it helps, add some lemon, a mixture of fruits or a little bit of portable flavouring with you to make drinking water a little more exciting. (Or even dissolve a Vocalzone?)

2. VOCALZONE CAFFEINE FREE TEA

The caffeine in some teas can be more harmful to your voice than good, but drinking our unique blend for hard working voices is going to have major soothing benefits for your voice. The tea contains our secret ingredient Myrrh , which can be used as an antiseptic for an inflamed throat and mouth.

3. WARM WATER WITH HONEY AND LEMON

An easy way to naturally hydrate and soothe your voice is by mixing some honey with lemon and warm water. A delicious twist on your normal water-drinking routine.
