Blue Nation

Blue Nation, is a 3-piece band from Birmingham, euphonic riff based rock to create a sound that doesn’t fit neatly into a genre and is all the more memorable for it.

Their songs are delivered by three accomplished musicians, fronted with stunning vocals. All backed up with impressive gig experience, stage presence and great songs.

They play top venues in the major cities of the UK and further afield with tours of NYC’s Greenwich Village and Manhattan. Their most prestigious performances have been on the Main Music Stage @ F1 British Grand Prix Silverstone, twice. The quirkiest was The Tramlines Festival Sheffield, acoustic on a moving Tram.

Birmingham riff rockers Blue Nation to release new album ‘Blue Nation’ draw from a reservoir of influences including Cream, Zeppelin, The Beatles and more recently Rival Sons and Vintage Trouble to name a few. The new album The Kaftan Society has been in the making for over a year whilst the band toured with the likes of Skid Row, Dirty Thrills, Steve Conte and Brian Downey.

Frontman Neil Murdoch explains; The album came together naturally, it took about 3 months to write and the we spent a year perfecting the songs in the studio with Alex Vine of AVR Music. The title “The Kaftan Society” is a direct link to us. It’s about being who you are, and not being scared of what people think and feel about you. Standing up for love and dismissing any form of hate. The album has so many different themes running through it, we wanted people to be able to relate to the songs and feel like it’s for them.

Here is a review of Skid Row main support set!

“ …. style akin to Free, Cream, Lynyrd Skynyrd. Really enjoyed the set from 3 clearly very gifted musicians that have a strong set of songs. A number of 70’s retro bands doing the rounds at the moment, but Blue Nation really stand out from the pack….”

they were also nominated, in October, by Planet Rock as “Ones To watch”

“The Kaftan Society” Physical & Digital download will be released Fri 30th Nov 2018 with Album launch gig happening on  Sat 1st December at Sunflower Lounge in Birmingham.

Let’s see what Neil Murdoch has to say about Vocalzone!

Being a part of the VZ family is really important to us as a band. We use all the products while touring, rehearsing and recording. It gives you the confidence to go out and perform as the products as so good. They give your the extra edge when you need it onstage. We have used the pastilles for years and the new addition of the teas is brilliant.
