Vocalzone Throat Pastilles were created over 100 years ago, by Mr William Lloyd F.C.R.S. a world renowned Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon, for the Great Enrico Caruso. Vocalzone is highly prized by singers the world over and is still manufactured to the original formulation. William Lloyd, the inventor of Vocalzone Throat Pastilles, is born at the Mansel Arms in Carmarthen to the Innkeepers Thomas and Elizabeth Lloyd.

Enrico Caruso is born in Via San Giovannello, Naples to Anna and Marcellino Caruso, a tough mechanic who worked as a foreman in a Naples Factory.

Enrico Caruso makes his professional debut at Teatro Nuovo in Naples. He is not well received, as his voice is an unusual combination of Tenor and Baritone. Following criticism he announces he will never sing in Naples again stating he would return only "to see my mother and eat vermicelli alle vongole."

Enrico Caruso makes his debut at his spiritual home, The New York opera starting an association that will last until his death in 1921. He also signs a deal with Victor records and becomes the first person the sell a million records.

William Lloyd F.R.C.S is called to Covent Garden to attend to Enrico Caruso where he is struggling with a voice problem. They become firm friends and William travels all over the world with Enrico as his personal physician. The resulting treatment is called Vocalzone. William marries Elizabeth and moves to Brook Street, Hanover Square. He also publishes his book “Hay Fever Hay Asthma” which runs to 3 editions.

William Lloyd F.R.C.S hosts a Matinee performance at the Alhambra Theater London (now the Odeon Leicester square). It is attended by his friend, the Chancellor of the Exchequer and future Prime Minister, David Lloyd George. He raises £8000 and for London Welsh Troops.

The Great Enrico Caruso dies in Naples as a result of a mystery illness, suspected to be peritonitis, at the age of 48. The King of Italy opened the Royal Basilica of the Church of San Francesco di Paola for Caruso's funeral, which was attended by thousands of people.

William Lloyd F.R.C.S. house at Brook Street is destroyed in the Blitz and he moves his family to Harrow on the Hill.
